Readers of Faith in the Freshman will recognize the characters Billie and Lefty. I took Lefty along to a book event I had this week at the Waukesha Rotary. My dad (Lefty) enjoyed the book (for those of you who might have wondered). He also loved hearing me talk about it to the Rotarians. Read the rest of this entry »
Recently I had the opportunity to talk about Faith in the Freshman for the St. John’s College Alumni Reunion in Winfield, Kansas. Even though our alma mater closed in 1986, Johnnies continue to return to the campus each year for these alumni gatherings. Read the rest of this entry »
Last night I had the opportunity to speak for the Port Washington High School basketball banquet. A great team with great coaches, kids, and parents. Here are a few photos of a Faith in the Freshman book signing that followed.
Have you purchased your book through Barnes & Noble yet? If not, and you live in the Milwaukee area, stop by the Barnes & Noble store in the Bay Shore Town Center on Thursday, April 15 to pick one up. I will be there at 6:30 p.m. to personally sign your copy! Also, the Business Journal has this highlighted as well!
The Little Read Book Store is in the heart of Wauwatosa Village. As a Tosa resident, I often run or ride my bike along the path near the center of the village and adjacent to the book store. On Sunday, December 6, the afternoon was sunny and warm enough to be outside — especially since the Packers weren’t playing until Monday night. Instead we were indoors where friends and neighbors gathered to hear a few excerpts from the book and hear some stories. Here are a few photos from the event.
If you live in or around the Milwaukee area, you’re invited to “meet” the author in three different ways this weekend:
- Listen to “Lake Effect” on WUWM tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. (or 11 p.m.) There will be a link to the interview after it airs.
- Visit with him on Saturday, December 5 at 1 p.m. at Books and Company, 1029 Summit Ave., Oconomowoc.
- Visit with him on Sunday, December 6 at 2 p.m. at Little Read Book Store, 7603 W. State St., Wauwatosa.
Here are a few photos from the recent book signing at Concordia. I wore my red Chuck Taylor Converse basketball shoes in honor of the event.
